AMusTCL 4-Month Intensive Online Course for May 2026 Exam

The AMusTCL 16-Week Intensive Online Course is designed for participants who have a strong theory foundation and wish to learn the new set works to take or retake the upcoming exam in May 2026.

Contents (Focused on the following)

1. Complete analysis of Set Work: Bach: Partita No. 6 in E minor

2. Complete Analysis of Set Work: Schubert: Die Schöne Müllerin, op. 25

3. Review of Baroque Chorale 4-part Writing

4. Review of Classical Orchestration

5. Review of 20th-Century Popular Song

DETAILS

Pre-requisite: Grade 8 Music Theory (preferably within the past five years).

Course Duration

✔ 16 weeks: January – April 2026

Session A (Cantonese)

Zoom meeting every Monday & Thursday 9-10 p.m. HK time, beginning 5/1/2026. (No lesson on 17/2/2026 Chinese New Year holiday.)

Session B (English)

Zoom meeting every Monday & Thursday 10-11p.m. HK time, beginning 5/1/2026. (No lesson on 17/2/2026 Chinese New Year holiday.)

Students may choose to attend either Session A or Session B. Students are required to attend weekly lessons to ensure progress. There will be no makeup lessons. Zoom lesson video would be available on request.

Course materials, assignments and past papers since 2017 are provided. Students only need to purchase the set work scores to bring to the exam.

Weekly written assignments are due 24 hours before the next lesson. Assignments are submitted in PDF file labeled under student’s name and date. Feedback will be provided in the next lesson.

Payment Options:

• Payment in full: US$1150 at the beginning of the course.

• 4 installments of US $300: paid at the beginning of each month.

• 20th Century Melodic Writing

• January-March 2026 (Total of 12 hours)

• Every Saturday, 9-10 p.m. HK time (Cantonese)

• Payment in full: US$900 at the beginning of the course.
